Mike W. of Biddeford Pool, Maine is a busy guy, and has been even busier with a new baby on the way. With the due date soon approaching, Mike called Rook Energy Solutions’s Home Improvement division to complete a few projects he has been thinking about for years, but never had the time to get them done.
Mike had always wanted to have a way to get from the kitchen to the deck outside, but there was always a sink in the way of where he wanted to place a door. We pulled out the sink, cut out the counter and cabinet, and installed a new full glass door.
With a new family member comes the need for more usable space. Mike wanted us to turn a seldom-used porch area into a usable bedroom. We removed the old casement window and sliding glass door and installed one new double-hung window, four awning windows and a new pocket interior door. We also re-insulated with loose-fill cellulose in the attic, taking care to repair our access points in the ceiling to match the existing Rosebud drywall texture.
Finally, Mike always wanted to have access to the outside from his basement. Mike dug the hole and we took care of the rest.
Of course, Mike still wanted to do some things himself, so we finished the projects to the point where Mike can paint the rooms and stain the siding himself when he is ready.
